Untraditional Ways to Make Money for Your Slow Travel

Travel frees the spirit. It can bring you and your family closer together. It educates in ways that schools just can’t. However, making the decision to just pack up your family (or even just yourself) and go with the winds can be a big and intimidating one to make. It’s scary to quit or take long periods of time off of a standard job. But traveling smart doesn’t have to be scary or mean that you’re broke. All you have to do is find a way to make money while you travel. Having a portable trade is one of the most freeing things you can do in life. It allows you to earn the money you need while you live a life that suits you.

Using websites such as iWriter and Textbroker can be a great way to earn cash online. With low minimum weekly payouts and a star rating system that allows you to earn the money that you deserve from the articles you write. Both weekly payout content creation sites are a great and easy way to earn a steady, mobile income.

There are several websites that you can sign up for, almost uniformly for free and with standard grammar tests for admittance. You can also use free toolbar add-ons such as ‘Grammarly’ to help improve your grammar and cut down on edits.

Party and Event Entertainment

It may be surprising to consider, but those magic tricks you learned as a kid and the balloon animals that you enjoyed whenever the carnivals would come to town are great mobile ways to earn cash while you travel. With rates that start on the very cheap end of $50 (USD)/hour, and expected rates of $100 – $150 per hour, you can easily fund not only your travel expenses but your vacation fun as well.

Though getting certifications in these fields is optional, it is in no way required, and oftentimes a simple DIY website or ad on CraigsList can get you booked through the weekend.

If you don’t feel you have any sort of specific talent, you can try your hand at Fiverr. On Fiverr, you can sell a variety of items and services. You can even offer tiers or upgrades. Typically, your basic service or product will be (as the name suggests) five dollars.

You can sell anything from random trinkets to workout instructional videos, custom artwork to rare items. There is almost nothing you can’t find or offer on Fiverr.

Though maybe not the most guaranteed source of income, some people have found success in funding their vacations and travels with Kick Starter. All you have to do is find a great gimmick to go along with what you’re already wanting to do. If you’re willing to put in the work to do daily or weekly updates and come up with reward tiers, this can be a great way to make money while you travel.

Whatever way you choose to make money throughout your travels, you might want to start off using a title loan. You can get a decent amount of cash using a title loan, and they’re easy to pay back. You can use the money you receive as either a nut to get you started on your travels or as an emergency fund in case anything undesirable happens during your journey. Traveling on a budget is an amazing experience and it’s worth every moment you spend working freelance to achieve it.
